Lay Readers and Licensed Eucharistic Minister
Parishioners may become trained to serve in the role of Licensed Eucharistic Minister (LEM) or Eucharistic Minister (EM) in the worship service, wearing vestments and assisting the priest in administering communion.
Lay Readers do not vest and sit with the congregation, but still join in leading worship.
Both the Lay Reader and the LEM read portions of the service, including Scripture readings and the Prayers of the People.
