We believe that children are an important part of our church family and they are fully welcomed to participate at all church events and activities. Intergenerational fellowship, formation and worship are one of the best parts of our life together. For children specifically, Sunday School (using the Godly Play model) is offered at 9:15.

Children (and grandchildren) are always welcomed to participate in church services, and there are small activity bags they may use for quiet activities.

A nursery for children 4 and under is available in the parish hall building from 9:00 until 12:00.

OUR LIFE TOGETHER

Episcopal worship follows an ancient pattern that dates to the earliest days of the Christian church. The first half of the Eucharist is the Liturgy of the Word the second half is the Liturgy of the Table, also called Holy Communion. If you’ve spent time in Episcopal, Roman Catholic, Lutheran, or Eastern Orthodox churches, much of our liturgy will seem familiar. If you’re unfamiliar with liturgical Christian worship, don’t worry. You’re welcome to participate as fully as is right for you, or to just relax into the liturgy and let the rest of the congregation carry you in worship.

Weddings

Christian marriage is a covenant between two persons who make vows of love and fidelity to one another in the presence of God, their families, and friends who will help them uphold those vows. The joy and love of a married couple both comes from God’s love and points to it, and the wedding service reflects that truth.

Who may be married at Grace?

The Episcopal Church requires that at least one of the couple be a baptized Christian. While is not necessary to be a member of Grace to be married here, at least one of the couple should be an active, committed member of a Christian community. If you wish to be married at Grace, normally our clergy preside at the service.

How do we schedule a wedding at Grace?

All weddings must be scheduled in consultation with the clergy at Grace. The Canons of the Episcopal Church require at least 90 days advance notice of a wedding, but the sooner you can schedule, the better. Grace requires at least four sessions of pre-marital counseling, to be completed at least a month before the wedding; three of these sessions will be with a licensed counselor and one with the rector or deacon. Weddings are typically scheduled on Saturdays. No weddings may be scheduled during Advent (the four weeks before Christmas) or Lent (the six weeks before Easter).
